This list of newborn essentials is designed to be the complete list of everyday, must-have items for new moms. And almost all of these items were also used daily by me as a new mom. So, whether you’re putting together your registry or trying to figure out what you really need for baby: this list will walk you through what you need along with specific product recommendations.

Most of the time, new moms are often so overwhelmed with everything they have to do when getting ready for baby's arrival. This newborn checklist will help new moms register for gifts and figure out exactly what they need to buy before baby's arrival.

Just think, it’s better to go ahead and get it over with now rather than having to keep going out in between feeding babies and nap time to pick up things you need, when you could have already gotten everything beforehand. Follow this newborn checklist below to tick off everything you need for baby's sleep, diapering, gear and nursery, which will see you through those first few months of your baby's life.

When to start your Baby Registry

In my personal opinion, I recommend setting up your baby registry in your second trimester. That’ll give you plenty of time to think about what you’ll want to add to your registry. And you’ll definitely want to have your registry set up as you get close to your baby shower since people will want to shop for you.

Best places to Register

There’s tons of stores that have baby registries but for simplicity I’d recommend using Amazon.com or Target. Amazon is the #1 place for online shopping and they have a dedicated place to set up your baby registry. Target, because some people prefer going into a store rather than buying online.
